       Sexual identity is the most enduring pillar that holds me together. I’ve been wounded, and through that pain, I’ve grown—perhaps even more. Erotic love that flips the world on its head—its power over existence feels greater than that of humans. Because of this, the sexuality we encounter between humans and non-humans is incredibly complex. I gather these traces and fragments, weaving them into new meanings. It’s driven by a question of what’s ‘normal’, and I center the body as a story in my work—reclaiming a queer narrative within that space. For me, Art functions both as an attempt to deconstruct heteronormative discourses within society and culture, and as a personal record of “A stubborn life that cannot be destroyed(excerpt.. from my diary).”

       Lately, I’ve been experimenting with sculptures made from images I found in online gay pornography, playing with ornamentation and ethics through parody and reimagining, creating a dialogue that’s both provocative and reflective.

        성 정체성-지향은 나를 이루는 가장 큰 기둥이다. 나는 상처 받았고, 그것 때문에 더 아파하며 컸다. 세계를 뒤집어 놓는 성애적 사랑, 그것이 존재에게 작용하는 영향은 인간보다 위에 있다. 그렇기에 우리가 인간과 비인간 사이에서 발견할 수 있는 섹슈얼리티는 대단한 복잡성을 갖고 있다. 나는 그 흔적이나 파편들을 수집하여 재해석-재조합한다. 이는 내가 ‘정상(正常)’에 대한 의문을 바탕으로 ‘신체’를 작품 소재로 앞세워 그 서사를 퀴어적으로 배치하려는 이유이기도 하다. 하여 나에게 미술이란, 사회문화 속 이성애적 담론을 해체하려는 시도인 동시에, “파괴되지 못하는 끈덕진 삶(일기에서 발췌)”에 대한 개인의 기록으로도 기능하는 것이다.

        최근에는 온라인 게이 포르노에서 수집한 이미지를 소재로 장식성과 윤리에 대한 조형을 모략적으로 실험하고 있다.
